Poncella´s Office

On Tuesday 17th October, the class of 2nd B from the ESO visited the «Centro de Historias de Zaragoza», with the guidance of Sergio Muro (a painter and permorfer). He was a perfect guide for us, and his English was quite fluent. We went there together with our teacher Javier Joven.

At half past nine we left school and, after crossing the Ebro river, we arrived at the history center where Sergio Muro welcomed us. We went inside and were really excited to start learning about Enrique Jardiel Poncela.

Sergio began telling us what Jardiel Poncela had done through his life. He was a journalist and a creator, but if we had to use a single word to describe him, that would be «artist». He could manage well at any artistic genre, and we discovered plenty of things about his masterpieces. We were also told many funny anecdotes about his life, because above all, Poncela was a humourist.

At the end, we started a workshop where we designed some emoticons and then we took a picture with  «PONCELA’S OFFICE» logo. The exhibition got that name from the place where Poncela used to work while he was working at the States.
We had a really good time and we learnt lots of things on a man who is not that recognised but who clearly deserves our attention as students.
